Staking Overview

The Honeycomb Protocol Nectar Staking module provides game developers with an on-chain token and character staking system. Before we get into the how, let's look at why you'd want to use Nectar Staking.

Why use Nectar Staking?

Our Nectar Staking module can be used in apps/games that need stake tokens or characters; for example, in games where players need to stake characters to participate in battles or to earn rewards. And using token staking, players can stake in-game tokens (or governance tokens) to earn passive income.

1. Character/NFT Staking

In games where players need to stake characters to participate in battles or to earn rewards, the Nectar Staking module can be used to stake characters. The staked characters can be used to earn rewards or to participate in battles. To learn more about how to stake characters, see the Character Staking section.

2. Token Staking (SPL)

Token staking allows users to stake tokens (or governance tokens) to earn passive income. Staking rewards may include more tokens, in-game items, or NFTs.
